Planning A Website

My website will hopefully have the girls basketball team theme. I am trying to build a website that is for the Thomas Jefferson Lady Spartans. My main audience is going to be anyone who is interested in the girls basketball team and who ever is interested in our records and players. My buttons names will be Home, Schedule, Gallery, Players, Video, and, Coaches Corner. My plan to get images is to check out a camera and during some games take pictures of my teammates or even have somebody else take pictures of them for me. Each page will have a different but interesting look. I want my home page to have up to date articles on some of the players. My Schedule page will have the whole schedule but also have the ending scores and the stats. The Gallery page will have every teams owns gallery of games, dinners, and practice. My Players page will have an individual profile for every player in our program. The Video page will have footage of our games. The Coaches corner will have a way to contact our coaches and a little job description of them. I feel like if i really work hard on this website i will end up having a successful website for the girls basketball team.

Optimizing Images

Tip 1: Keep the Dimensions Small- Crop Your Images

Make sure that when you have a website you always use your space right. With pictures always crop out unnecessary space. A website will always run faster if you don’t have unnecessary things on the site as in extra picture space.

Tip 2: Use as Few Colors as Possible

You never want your website to be way to busy. If a website is really busy people wont necessary stay on the website. If a website is to busy it will take a long for the website to warm up and if a website doesn’t load quickly people usually change the site. If you only show a certain low amount of colors it always makes the file smaller so that it’s easier to load.

Tip 3: Put Your Images Through an Optimization Program

If you optimize an image it makes everything way simpler. If you Photoshop an image and save for a web and device it helps the image come out way clearer and you can have an image that is a small size and looks the best. You can compare the images so that it will come out the best.

The Principles of Design

Alignment:

Think about how hard it would be to find clothes in a store if nobody payed attention to the racks they just threw it anywhere. It would be so hard to find a good shirt or pants and the clothes would be ruined. Alignment helps organize  all the clothes on racks and hangers. If a page has no alignment the pictures would be mixed up with the text just like the pants were mixed with the shirts. If you use alignment it makes everything easier to find because the text is in with the text and the pictures are with the pictures.

Balence:

Think about some shoes with every color in the rainbow on them. How would you be able to look good in those. If a web page doesn’t have any balance everything will look a mess because there will be more things going on, on one end of the page and not on the other end. Just like if you were to where those shoes there will be on balance in your outfit because you would look like a rainbow. If you arrange the page so that everything is organized then you have balance on your page.

Website Roles

                                           Graphic Designer

To be a graphic designer is not an easy job. In order to be a graphic designer first you have to know how not top make something look so clutered and it has to be well orginized. If you were a graphic designer you would be getting paid on average $59,894 a year. That’s pretty good. Most of graphic designers have a lot of experience with designs before they even start a job. They have a combination of fine arts, graphic design, or publishing with college classes as in computer science and hands-on computer experience. Graphic designers go to a four year college and a two year college for an associate’s degree. That’s a lot of school. In order to become a designer it is required that you have some training in computer graphics packages like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Paint Shop Pro. A designer should be able to work with different types of computers as in macs, and dells. Designers need to be able to be really comfortable with different codes for HTML. They need to know exactly what codes would be right to do the right designs so that the website looks decent and not just like somebody wrote a bunch of codes. Graphic designers have an important job and they will never be underestimated.
